The Right Oil For The Job - You can improve gas mileage by as much as 3% by using the right motor oil. Multi-grade motor oils are best, and most vehicles will use 5W-30 or 10W-30. It’s also important to keep the oil level within safe range in between regular oil changes. Too little oil can cause premature wear and reduced fuel mileage.

Can your Engine Breathe? - Air filters clean the air that is used by your engine. When a filter is full of contaminates, it reduces the amount of air that can pass through to the engine. This causes your engine to run rich using more fuel than air, and could cause up to a 10% reduction in fuel economy.

When was your last Tune-up? - By keeping your vehicle tuned-up and emissions components working properly you will get the most our of your tank of fuel. A faulty oxygen sensor could impair mileage by as much as 40%.

Pump it Up! - Keep you tires inflated to manufacturer’s specs. You could see as much as a 3.3% drop in fuel economy. Properly inflated tires also are safer and last longer which will save you money.

Take it Easy - Speeding, rapid acceleration, and braking waste gas. Your fuel mileage may be reduced by as much as 33% highway and 5% around town. You could assume that for every 5mph over 60 you are paying an extra $.21 per gallon!
